Description

Fits ’18-earlier only in 68RFE.

In Chrysler 45/545/65/66 and '18-earlier 68RFE transmissions, various converter concerns result from the OE design of the TCC regulator valve. There is minimal valve-to-bore sealing at the line pressure to converter feed circuit, which allows critical apply fluid to leak past the valve spool and directly to exhaust/sump. Typical cores show low vacuum at this critical TCC apply circuit and confirms the issue of poor valve to bore sealing.

Sonnax enhanced drop-in TCC regulator valve kit 44912-11K incorporates an extended spool for additional sealing support at the critical interface between the line pressure circuit and the TCC apply circuit. The Sonnax valve kit is designed as a quick and inexpensive repair for pumps showing initial signs of wear or as a preventative measure to extend the life of the pump. The kit also includes a sturdier accumulator spring retainer, as the OE retainer is often damaged from excess spring force.

  • Hardcoat anodized aluminum valve combats premature wear
  • Lengthened critical spool for additional sealing area and wear prevention
  • Thicker accumulator spring retainer to replace thinner damaged OE accumulator spring retainer
  • Drop-in Zip Valve™ parts install quickly and easily

  • Valve
  • Spring Retainer

Symptoms:

  • Converter concerns
  • Lockup concerns

Cause:

Minimal valve-to-bore sealing at the line pressure to converter feed circuit allows critical apply fluid to leak past valve spool and directly to exhaust/sump. Typical cores show low vacuum at this critical TCC apply circuit and confirms the issue of poor valve-to-bore sealing.

Correction:

Remove multiple TCC lockup concerns by installing the Sonnax enhanced, drop-in TCC regulator valve kit that utilizes additional sealing area to prevent critical line pressure from cross-leaking to exhaust. A thicker accumulator spring retainer is also included to replace the often damaged OE retainer.
